The Gospel

The Gospel:

IS THE POWER OF GOD FOR SALVATION:  The gospel is the power of God for salvation of everyone who believes.
Romans 1:16;  1 Cor. 1:18
                                                              

THERE IS ONLY ONE:   There is no other gospel.

      Galatians 1:6-9

MUST BE OBEYED:  The gospel must be obeyed or you will suffer eternal destruction.
 2 Thessalonians 1:8&9  

HOW DO I OBEY THE GOSPEL?:

So we can plainly see that the scripture tells us that we have to obey the Gospel or be lost.  I Corinthians explains to us what the Gospel is....

I Corinthians 15:1-4 1Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand,  2by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.  3For i delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,  4and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the scriptures,


So now that I know what the Gospel is how do I obey the Death, Burial and Resurrection?

Romans 6:3-5  Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death?

 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.

 5For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection,

Colossians 2:12  12having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.
